On my Bold, I would only see one entry per contact. I think that's called "conversation view" in Gmail. Now in my new Classic, which I am struggling to understand, I have a zillion calls from the same person listed. I would like to only see the last one or one per contact.

Can't find whatever option/setting that is.

The conversation view is for the emails and the thread view is for texts. I don't remember calls showing as one per contact in legacy OS?

However, if the contact calls consecutively, the number of times is shown in bracket in front of the name. If someone calls in between, then each time is shown separately.

Example:
