I got a classic. I've been noticing in dark areas like in my room at night sometimes the brightness changes a little. It dims and then brightens and so forward. Can it be because of the light sensor getting the light from the TV?

The change in screen brightness is facilitated by the ambient light sensor in the phone. From what you are describing, I would reckon that the phone is picking up the stray light from the TV and adjusting accordingly, since it a dark room it would be more sensitive to light changes.
Yes. It's the auto brightness. If you have a tv on and it's in a dark room it will unfortunately fluctuate because the light sensor is adjusting to whatever light it gets
I find it quite annoying because it's dimming my screen unnecessarily to the point where I can no longer see what's on my screen. Is there a way to disable it?

Nope.
