    Alright.

I got a BB Bold 9700 off Ebay the other day and it seemed alright, but when I downloaded whatsapp, the problems started to occur.
Something about an IT Policy and split pipes. I've done the normal routine fixes like firewall etc and nothing has fixed it. So I factory reset the Blackberry, only for it to firstly not get past the whatsapp
verifying number stage at all, and now not even recognise the sim card.

    Any help?

    Cheers.

Did you reset the device via Desktop Manager?

    No, via the phone itself.

You can delete the IT Policy with the help of the DM. Go to the "?" -> Support-Ressources -> Support Tools -> Reset to factory

I only know the way on the german version, maybe it not the correct translation...

seems the article i gave is for admins... the other user article i cant find... but to do this you need to open command prompt... once open browse to directory below and follow my command

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research in Motion\AppLoader

command once the path has been followed is loader.exe /resettofactory

this is the 1 and only command to remove it policies.

    Method 4 from your article:
"Perform a factory reset on the BlackBerry smartphone using BlackBerry Desktop Software. For more information on performing a factory reset, please see KB18998."
