What happens when you try to restore to the PRIV with the Android version?

Yes, you need both the BB10 version for the Z30 and the Android version for the PRIV, and you need to save your backup where it is accessible to both devices.

The Droid version of Ultimate Backup is also called Ultimate Backup.

Unfortunately, whilst runIsoft does backup and restore for bb10, it doesn't restore at all on bb android, only backs up.

Different SMS/MMS apps work differently... not sure what the OP is using on their PRIV. On my Droid I've found the one provided by Verizon was better than the Android Messenger, and it did have an IMPORT feature that allowed me to save messages using Firechest Ultimate Backup on my Z10, saved the files to my SD Card and moved it to my new phone. Then simply imported the file.

That said... I didn't come close to 25K

Sorry for the misinformation, you are right, the version made by Ruinsoft for Android is called Optimum Backup.

that is true but Optimum Backup does not support RESTORE..
Note : this info from Optimum Backup website

    a) The Runisoft team is not related to DropBox,Box or WhatsApp.
    b) The app does not restore the data yet.It only exports the data.
