Hello, it's me again. I'm about to get as much information about my Blackberry Z30 I just ordered.

One question I still can't find answers for:

What is the experience about the Battery life using the OS 10.3? Is it any Better or is it the same or is it worse than on current OS?

    Also another question:

I've seen on the BlackBerry website there's an official 10.3.0.700 download available. Is it still dangerous to install it on a device I would use as my main device? Or is is okay and stable enough?

Many thanks in advance, I hope everyone is having a lovely day, especially with their BBs Hehe.

    @Pete

It's the developer release, on the Blackberry developer website.

So it is not 'dangerous' to install it on the main device?

I haven't read a heck of a lot of complaints regarding the leaked 10.3. My understanding is there are some shortcomings, but most who have installed it are happy.

Before you do anything back everything up. Take your time. Remember that it's a leak. Install at your own peril.

Generally, if you want to be sure of having a completely functional device you'll want to steer clear of the developer OS versions. The Z10, Z30, Q10, and Q5 are all slated to have 10.3.1 as their next OS update. It may be a few months past the release of 10.3 with the Passport and maybe the Classic, but it will be sure to work with your handset with everything functioning as its supposed to.

I am using 10.3.0.296 on my Z30 Device. My observations is as below :
    1. Battery life normal. I have very very heavy usage and it lasts for 12 hours easily.
    2. Email systems are very advanced.
    3. Fully backup your device and load 10.3 at your own risk. Remember Finally it is developer version.
    4. Last but not the least 10.3.0.296 is excellent software very stable on my Z30. It has some infant issues but imagine once the official version is released it will be amazing.
    Overall rating 7 / 10.

First of all: I thank all of you, you give me really helpful answers. You can feel the community here is very nice and kind. Thank you for that ☺️

I have some other questions now though:

I've read through this forum and found out that if I would want to install the OS 10.3.0.700 then it only works find if I ''get the updated apps for .700''. What does that mean?

Also I've seen the post 'updated .bar files for 10.3.0.700. What is this?

And in conclusion: what do I have to do to get a nice smooth working (and not battery draining) OS 10.3.0.700 on my BlackBerry Z30?

Maybe these questions seem silly but I'm very new to the BlackBerry world and it still is quite a jungle of leaks

    Many thanks in advance

PS. I'm aware that it might be more stress less waiting for the official release. Bbbuuutt: the OS 10.3 looks truly amazing and what I've seen so far from it is absolutely a gorgeous OS which I find hard to resist Hehe.

If you think 10.3 is amazing, wait until you see what 10.4 is capable of accomplishing.

I have no doubt about that.

But for now I would like to know what I have to do for a working 10.3.0.700. (See the questions in the post before).

From my understanding, daily users have been using 10.3.0.296, so you might want to stay clear from 10.3.0.700

Haven't tried installing any of them yet, I'm still waiting for a better leak.

Yeah maybe you're right. But I still would like to know if it's enough to just install the auto loader of the version I want to install or if I need additional things. So in the quote below it should also be the other leaks.

700 is the developer version and is not a complete installation. You will have to install other "things" to make it work fully.

Even then very few (but there are some) would recommend it as a "daily driver".

Go spend a few hours over in the BB10 Leaked/Beta OS - BlackBerry Forums at CrackBerry.com threads.
