    Hi,

    My gf tried to upgrade her bbm to vers 8.5.1.8 yesterday. It runs thru the usual process, but while watching the download bar, we noticed it gets to 0.4MB of a 7MB file, then says it's installed. It doesn't ask to restart.

    Plus, the bbm icon doesn't show up at all. We tried a couple of solutions (unhide, show all, etc.), to no avail.

    She rebooted her phone a half dozen times, in between which we installed/uninstalled the "upgrade" half of a half dozen times.

    Mine upgraded no problem.

    Any tips?

    Battery pull, if on wifi, also reboot the router. Then try again.

    If on carrier network, try wifi.

    Try refreshing BBW. Settings, general, refresh.

    Oops. Sorry. On BBOS, go into App World and type ALT R S T.

    Sorry, bit of a tech neophyte here. BBW = Blackberry World? I've gone through Setup, Options, and Blackberry World, looking for Settings in all three, no go, nor General, nor Refresh.

    If it helps, she's got a Bold 9900, operating on 7.1 Bundle 921 (v7.1.0.267, Platform 5.1.0.230).

    Just follow my second post. (yes BlackBerry World is BBW).

    Open BBW, hold down the alt key, and hit RST. Quit program. Run again. It will be refreshed.
