I am looking forward to upgrading from my Passport to the KEYone as soon as it comes available. Does anyone know if BB10 backups will work on BlackBerry Android (contacts, text chats, apps, calendar entries, pictures etc).

Contacts and calendar are populated when you sign in to your email acc. Pics should be dumped in the cloud service of your choice., I recommend Google Drive for an easy transition, text chats will likely be lost unless you save them elsewhere like on the sim. Apps that you got from Amazon or Google Play store will easily be recovered by using those services on Android and there are equivalent apps for the BlackBerry 10 ones that you have. In the first instance, use the content transfer app from BlackBerry and go from there.

Cheers, very helpful. So forget the backup just manage the files independently by using appropriate storage.

If you use the BlackBerry device switch/content transfer app that I can't remember properly and the do what I said previously to 'fill in the gaps' you'll be ok. Contacts, calendar and email will populate themselves after you put your email in and just follow what I said previously for the rest. If you miss a particular BlackBerry app and it's not available on Android, there is definitely an equivalent that does the same job. If you want the hub to manage all your email, just disable Gmail which is set up by default to handle your Gmail account. The pinch gesture even works in the android hub now so even though it's not quite as fluid as the BlackBerry 10 hub, it's very good. Device backups are done automatically on Android via Google Drive.

Just want to add...
It also depends on the type of email account you have.
POP3 and IMAP email accounts don't include contacts and calendar information. Gmail, Outlook.com, and any other Exchange type account, however, can include any contacts and calendar information associated with those accounts.
That content transfer app has caused problems back when it first came out for those early Priv adopters. But, I don't know if it's been updated since then. It may work better now. If I recall, you could at least select what info you wanted to transfer. But I will defer to someone who's had actual experience in using it.

I used the content transfer app and I didn't have any issues so maybe i'm just lucky. Also, if your sd card is larger than 32Gb you'll need to download the microsoft ex fat driver.
