    Hi CB,
I got a BBQ10 in September 2013 and has been working fine but I feel I have a bug at the moment.
Just observed that after I updated my OS version to 10.2.1.2174. my battery level drops rapidly but after a few weeks the device started to reboot intermittently. I felt my battery was damaged so I bought a new battery but I still experience the same issue. so I reloaded the OS over the air but got a new update 10.2.1.2977 and the issue remains the same. I can only use the device when plugged into power.

please does anyone have an idea what this issue is? I have checked the web no one seems to be able to advise

    Thanks CB fans in anticipation

    Hello and welcome to CrackBerry.
From what you describe about your Q, it sounds like you need to reload your OS.

    Thanks Jaydee,
I actually did an OS reload but issue is still persistent.I am hoping when 10.3 is available that will resolve the issue. One question: do you have an idea as to how I wipe the device (like remove the OS and load a fresh one) rather than a direct update.

Try the paper trick. Jam something in to shim the battery so it stays tight against the contacts.

    Hi Conite,
I tried the trick but still no luck. Just a quick confirmation. where do I place the paper?
    1. between the body of the device and the battery or
    2. between the battery and the back panel

    Thanks in advise.

Neither. Jam it at the bottom of the battery, forcing it up against the contacts.

I used two business cards cut to size to hold the battery in place tightly.

It seems to be working fine and addressed my problem of constant reboots.

I am disappointed that I had to jury rig my Q10 to work right. I expect better from Blackberry.

The one downside to replaceable batteries. That may be why they are moving away from them.
