I'm sure it is still around but I'm not sure if you can Still get any support or app downloads. OS7 was at least 3-4 years ago.
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to go back to such an old OS & obsolete device?

Agree. Don't go for a legacy BB device. BlackBerry/RIM new BB OS would never make it "into the future" so development was ceased with OS 7/7.1. If you need at "texting machine" for mail/SMS and calendar it's great, but that's it.
There are still apps around for legacy handsets, but even basic features that people expect from a modern application will be lacking because of the small memory space of the older devices. Outside of email and calendar use, there's not a use case for a BBOS device anymore.
If someone had to get a legacy device for some reason, there's no reason to get anything older than an OS 7 device.

Frankly I was very glad to be able to upgrade to BlackBerry 10 as Yahoo & Google pulled the plug on BlackBerry OS 7 support for both contact & calendar management.
