After a software update version 10.3.1.1779, after a full charge my battery only last for 5 hours. What is happening to my BlackBerry Passport?? It's only 1 month old. Advice please......

Give it time. the OS is indexing itself, and it will "settle" after a day or two. My Z30 (and others) did/do this after an OS update. Should not last more than 2/3 days.....

As the above comment has said, give it 24 hours. If the draining still persists go into device monitor (pull down from top) and see what is using the most CPU power

Hope you enjoy your Passport. We want you to have the best experience!

I am seeing this drain too, but strangely it is mostly with 'settings'. Tried a bunch of things. Mainly stopping damn Android services. Problem went away for a day, then just returned for revenge.

It shouldn't need so much time to 'settle'. Maybe if you are settling up for the first time with several emails accounts. My Classic was back to normal in less than an hour after an OTA OS update.
Try a hard reset (something I always do after an OTA) and if this doesn't rectify then start looking for an app that may be misbehaving (usually android, but can rarely be a BlackBerry app).

    Good luck.

You can use Device Monitor. If you look in Memory and see apps showing that should be closed then those might be the culprit. You can close them there in Device Monitor. You can also look at CPU to see what is currently actively using up your CPU.
There's also an android app called Task Manager that shows all the android apps running in the background or otherwise. You can use it to close them as well. In my experience it hasn't shown me anything that Device Monitor doesn't show, but doesn't hurt to try.

So I've checked all the things u have mentioned in regards to looking into what Andriod Apps are running and it seems as if nothing is running? But then why is the android player still in use? Thanks for the help

Go into CPU and wait a few seconds for it to settle, then take a screen shot. It will show if anything is currently running. Your system should be around 4.5 - 6%. If it's running higher that would be an indication that something is just not right as well. Depending on what it is, usually a restart or hard reset could rectify.

OK coo, so here's the screen shot ,this was taken about 6 second after opening like you said, but then just after that it seems to go up down a lot like it went up too 17 then down to 4 and back up too 7. So not too sure what's going on. But I appreciate your feedback.

That looks good. Don't see anything running unusually high. System jumping around a bit is normal. As long as it doesn't consistently stay high.
Are you still currently experiencing it?

I think it is a problem with the update. A lot of people are having this issue and it can't be the user or just 'settling' endlessly. I'm having the problem too. Started after the update and persists even after a week.

Here are mine. Only four apps installed. None from play store. Bare minimum settings. Do me! Lol

We are in a similar position. Are you on Telus? My update file size was huge too. I don't notice very many changes over the last version.
