    I sometimes don't trust Link either when I perform a backup....it takes so long and then all of a sudden...DONE!
    I have used these backups to restore my phone so I know they are ok. But your mileage may vary.
    Maybe you should reinstall Link and then try it again?

    I too see these issues, interns of on screen progress bar being totally inaccurate.

    I can also concur that the backup do work. Phew!
