Auto-brightness is built in to every BlackBerry 10 device and you cannot turn it off.

I don't think so. It was in BB 7 OS devices. My curve would dim automatically at night and get bright in the day. Z3 is not doing that. There is option only to change brightness manually.

Well, you are wrong. It is always annoyingly on. You may not notice it because it doesn't usually dim down unless you turn off the screen and then turn it back on(that's also annoying).

In short, auto-brightness is always activated on ever BlackBerry 10 device, and there is no way to toggle it off.

If you believe that your device doesn't seem to be changing the brightness varying on your environmental light levels, you may want to download BBVE (BlackBerry Virtual Expert) from BlackBerry World to see if your device's light sensor is working properly.
