    Since upgrading my Z10 (100-2) to 10.3.1.2243 and updating PC software to 1.2.3.56 my phone keeps failing to back up via Link. Despite an ok usb connection I (eventually) get a failure pop-up saying "Backup did not complete. Verify your device is turned on and connected". I've reinstalled the PC software, loaded drivers via the handset, done the usual handset hard reset, disconnected wifi - same result. Any ideas please?

    after deleting the link software, try running ccleaner on your PC to clear out the cache.

    No change jaydee5799 - same response. Thanks for your thoughts. Maybe there's a fix in the latest OS release. Frustrating.

    I had the same issue but since I just got the latest update BlackBerry pushed out everything seems back to normal.

    Hopes dashed. Still no change. Also unable to customise backup - just hangs - not connecting to handset despite ok usb connection. Had enough of this today now. It's late, busy day tomorrow, so not sure when it'll get sorted now. Worrying!

    I'm getting the message on my new locked AT&T Passport SQW100-3 with original OS 10.3.1.1955. Link version 1.2.4.27 Win8.1

    "Backup did not complete"

    Tried both full and quick and different USB ports.

    Get ultimate backup from BlackBerry world. It does complete backups and restores over the air.

    Thanks, that was going to be my next question, if there is a reliable third party app?

    Btw, I backed up my Z10 with Link yesterday with no problems.

    Deleted and re-installed link and blend today. No joy backing up the Passport. Tried to backup my Z10 that is running 10.3.1 now. Got the same error. I backed it up successfully yesterday when it had OS 10.2.1.

    This is definitely a problem with 10.3.1

    BlackBerry Link doesn't see my Z30 on USB cable. Does see it OTA but you cannot use Link to backup OTA.

    I do have Ultimate Backup but I like to have a second option.

    Ooops. no joy with either 10.3 upgrade. Have tried two separate PCs too, so have messaged BBHelp and await their response. I've no alternative backup options at present. I know I'm not the only person with this issue, so am waiting to hear from BlackBerry now.

    That worked. Custom with Device Settings with local contacts and calendar. Still can't do a full or quick. I also posted this problem on BB support forum.

    I had the same issue with with Link 1.2.3.56 on both Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. Installing the latest BlackBerry Blend - which also updates Link to 1.2.4.27, resolved my issue.

    If you want to give it a try, make sure to install all three components packaged in the Blend installer. They are Blend, Link, and Device Drivers.

    Thanks zgsuo. I have that version installed with the complete package, but am still stuck with the 'Backup did not complete, Verify turned on & connected to Link, and try again' flag.

    Hi Tim-ANC. Mine's an Acer Aspire V5 Win8.1. I've had a few contacts with BBHelp and they suggest now that (based on my Pin) my software version is higher than is supported by my carrier (3UK) and that I contact them to get a supported OS version. Yuk!
    Not sure I'll get much help from Three on this - they seem to have abandoned BlackBerry as far as I'm aware.
    If I get anywhere with this, I'll get back with info.

    Thanks Phil. My carrier is ATT. My passport had original 10.3.1.1955 when I bought it locked on contract. It would not backup in this configuration nor since I updated off carrier to 2582.

    My AT&T locked Z10 did backup on 10.2.1 but not after 10.3.1 upgrade. I wonder if it because they are locked phones?

    I can probably get my Z10 unlocked since it's paid for now. If so, I'll try it again. If you have Sachesi, it will backup your device.

    Hi Tim. Like you, I've had no backup success since 10.3 (current OS 2576). I think Sachesi has just arrived in BBW so I'll give it a try. Btw, my Z10 was bought unlocked, for what it's worth.
