I have either the Blackberry Curve 8330 or 8310 - I have discontinued my carrier's service, but would like to use wifi or some form of internet connection to make calls over the internet. I tried skype but it will not work, presumably because my internet is tied to my carrier, and as said, I discontinued that service. Can I change the browser to work over my home router's wi-fi? Will I get an internet connection if I change the phone's browser settings? Is there any solution to this, or, without a carrier connection, is it impossible to get any kind of internet connection on my Blackberry in order to make voice calls over my home high speed internet? Thanks in advance.

You have either a 8330, 8320 or 8310. If you have a 8320, then you have WiFi. That does not solve the issue though as a good amount of apps need BIS to work.
