I have read all other posts that say you need bb blend now to get new bb link after update but I can't download blend with xp. I don't really use computer enough to warrant buying a new one just to backup my phone. Is there any other way to backup or switch info from z10 to z30 I plan on getting tomorrow?

The Switch Devices feature of Link (v1.2.4.39) should work on your XP (BlackBerry claims that XP SP3 is supported). The installer program (v1.2.0.52) provides the option to not install Blend. Get the software at Software Download for BlackBerry 10 Desktop Software. Good luck.
