    Bla1ze,
Do you think BlackBerry will roll out an upgrade from OS10 to the Blackberry Android OS?
Do you think the Z10 (and other models) are compatible to handle the Android OS?
    Thanks!

    Never.

Technically, most BB10 devices COULD run Android if they were designed to but they're not. They're all using hardware that Android runs on.

    Um... what?!
What I'm asking is if BB pushed an update, are the existing BB10 devices fully capable of running the new Android OS?
You imply they COULD (said as much) so...
"They're all using hardware that Android runs on."
So I take that to mean the phone (in my case, the Z10) COULD run BB Android.
    No?!

BlackBerry (and only BlackBerry) could make a BB Android build that works on the Z10.

However, BlackBerry will not actually do that.

    OK, OK!
Y'all ain't got to beat me over the head!
I was just thinking (out loud I guess) that if BB was leaving BB 10 OS in the past, MAYBE they'd consider an upgrade to Android for the older phones.
It's sad to think your not important.
But they're in the business of selling new phones aren't they! Lol

Rereading through, you're saying that the hardware is engineered for a particular OS?
I've built and upgraded PC's for years and never had to build for a specific OS... never messed with Apple/Macintosh... didn't like the OS.

The hardware is capable of running Android, but BlackBerry will never "upgrade" those devices for a multitude of reasons.

    1. The hardware is dated and Android would run poorly on most BB10 devices.

    2. These devices are already old and past support.

    3. They want you to buy new devices, because they would just be wasting resources on "upgrading" those devices. They are a business.

    4. Because that would be dumb.

    I merely asked a question.
I didn't ask to be insulted.
    Thank you.

So, If you had gotten your hands on that Android Passport someone was trying to sell, would it have been the missing link?

Not at all. That device is nothing more than a collector's item. Nothing useful could have been drawn from it. Great as a talking point but overall, useless.

Personally wouldn't want that to happen even if it could, but that's just my biased 2¢.
