I'm using Globe Prepaid with a BBMAX subscription. Yes Mobile Hotspot works. All you need to do is to call Globe or try to have an online chat (globe.com.ph) and request for the activation of the Mobile Hotspot Data Plan for BlackBerry phones. Tell them you recently upgraded to the new OS 7.1.

Hi! I'm new to everything but eager to learn! LOL
There are some things I can't figure out myself though. First is, if I joined BBM with Globe, can I switch to Sun's BBM service and keep my same open line BB and maintain the same BBM PIN? Is it as easy as just swapping SIM cards? Or do I undregister with Globe and reregister with Sun? How long does this process take?
Also, what does *143# do? Thank you po! - 05-14-2012, 05:28 AM #1933
Um... Well... It a bit complicated with BBs ryan... The PIN will be the same regardless of the provider... But thething is... Its usually not a seamless transition from one proider to another... You see the PIN will be associated with a provider and this is how RIM's servers will reognize it... If yiu suddenly switch from one provider to another, the BIS will not work properly...
Leme give you a for instance..
Say your BB is now on Sun... Your PIN will be locked to sun which is how RIM recognizes it.. If yiu wanna switch to globe, you will have to call sun and ask them to unblock it so that another provider can lock it.. If this isn't done, you will not get your globe bis properly.. I mean it will work but not reliably... As per exerience, sun's customer's service sucks balls.. It will take them 3 days to release your pin... Hope it helps... I know its a bit confusing but you'll eventually get the hang of it... - 05-15-2012, 01:10 AM #1939
yep. confirmed. just got this comment from Luna Go, in their blackberry globe facebook account.
“Hi @????! Please be informed that Mobile Hotspot for Blackberry is only available for postpaid subscribers only.
If you're a postpaid subscriber, you can still use Mobile Hotspot if subscribed to BBMax. Thank you.“
from looking at the past comments, nangyari lang to this past month. someone asked as well before in their fb account and they confirmed that prepaid bbmax can use mobile hotspot.
