BB SuperSurf Max and KB shifting: the Idiocy of Globe
Is anybody here having problems registering to the BB SuperSurf Max?
I've been trying to register with this service by Globe but I always receive a reply stating they cannot process the transaction and that I should try again after a few minutes. Been doing this since Friday last week.
Already confirmed that i'm typing the right syntax for the service (BB MAX ON send to 8888).
Also I'm having problems shifting to KB browsing. The message sent by globe is that I will receive confirmation by the hour but its been three days and no confirmation yet. Even tried the manual shifting via the CSR, still nada. I've been keeping up with their 24-hour spiel for three days now. My moleskine is like full of their reference number for each request i make, still no solution. Very frustrating!!
Can you share your ideas as to what might be my problem? I cannot rely on Globe anymore. I've lost confidence with their troubleshooting (I think it's been reiterated all over this thread how *stupid* CSRs can be).
Thanks in advance!

I hate to **** in but you are very wrong. You will not be charged when using wifi. I'm on globe but I have asked 2 smart postpaid subscribers already. Both said they don't get charged. You probably have set up your phone differently.
I'm sorry to rain on your parade.

Both Globe and Smart CSR's don't know what their job is.. Imagine the stress of trying to contact them for like 1 hour and you're listening to their annoying "waiting in line music" and you'll just gonna be much frustrated when someone pick up.
Ok guys, i'm kinda new and on the go now.. add me up, pin: 31169B81 - 09-30-2010, 08:05 AM #580

Electricph,
I have read through your posts and ...would just like to say, please try to improve on your english
No offense.
Anyway, regarding your earlier claim that deleting a service book record does nothing because it keeps getting pushed back to your device:-->false. I assure you. I did this just now. Deleted a record. Nope didn't come back. It NEVER comes back UNLESS you resend the service books. So have you been resending service books after deleting?
Also, i believe this isn't smart's fault. This is probably something along the lines of "user error". Every smartphone defaults to WIFI when available. For Blackberries, it does...if you wait for the wifi symbol to solidify.
If it doesn't try my earlier suggestion to another user
Options-->WIFI-->(highlight your wifi network's name)-->click on bb button-->WIFI Tools-->PING-->(change dropdown to: Wi-Fi Gateway)-->press bb button-->Send Ping
doing this around 3 to 4 times usually does it for me if it doesn't solidify on it's own.
OH and please go to OPTIONS-->ADVANCED -->TCP/IP and remove your ******* APN.
SMART CANT CHARGE YOU FOR SMART APN DATA with BIS SERVICE BOOKS.
THATS WHY THEY IGNORED YOU.
By any chance, did you subscribe to some stupid horoscope like Senator Enrile's driver? That could be why your load keeps getting deducted 10 bucks. Check if you have any of the crap smart offers and turn it off.
First of all, you are on prepaid. Smart prepaid does not have any limited BIS (according to their site, its all unlimited) so why are you having problems here? You shouldn't even need to be on wifi.
Second, you said you are not on BIS. If you are not on BIS, then no charges via BB data correct? SO how are you getting charged data? the service books are all useless without BIS connectivity. You probably have smart's APN under TCP/IP. Remove that.
Third, when you're surfing over wifi, is your browser set to Hotspot/wifi browser? Just open the browser-->press bb button-->options--> general properties-->default browser--> change to Hotspot browser or wifi. whichever you have.
If you went through all the crap i typed and are still getting charged, then you might not be the ***** that i think you are and I'll apologize for thinking so.
Also, this is a forum where you ask for help. it isn't any member's responsibility to help you. They do so because they feel like it. So if Klinton doesn't answer, just wait for someone who will.
She probably stopped replying because you sounded like a total whiny @%!# - 09-30-2010, 10:50 AM #582
Hey dude,
Try the lower ones. The 5 days plan or something. I think they work more often than the monthly one.
Would suggest you call globe, talk nicely at first. If CSR sounds like an *****, get mad and ask for a manager. HE/SHE will say that manager is busy. Tell them : "i'll wait. While i'm waiting, give me your full name and this call's reference number". They can do something about it but sometimes they dont want to. They need to escalate the issue to their DBA but i think it costs them brownie points. So you have to scare them into it. - 09-30-2010, 10:56 AM #583
The first link doesn't tell you to turn MOBILE NETWORK off. it tells you to turn DATA SERVICES off. Read carefully.
The second link which suggests you place APN is stupid. But i guess it works if YOU ARE ON BIS. But again, you said you aren't
I just realized. If you dont have BIS, and you have blackberry.net as APN, how the **** are you getting charged for DATA? you dont have data. You cant access data. - 09-30-2010, 04:31 PM #588
I would like to reiterate again that i am on Smart prepaid, and not with Globe. Your expereinces with Globe are totallycdifferent with Smart. thats why i said, if only i can switch to a Globe sim. i am not on BIS, i just subscribe once. so the basic service books for wap, grps, mms, wifi tcp/ip are the ones in my phone.
All my settings are correct. i have already talked to the high level managment of Smart, Head of Customer Service, Head of Resolutions Group, OSPAC of NTC, Novare Technologies, the local provider of Smart for Blackberry, and they said all my settings are correct. But to no avail "nagtuturuan na lang sila".
Again my question is this: If i placed a Globe sim in the same phone, why i am not charged? If i place my Smart sim i am charged just by turning Data services to ON even if i am not started browsing yet. NO ONE FROM SMART DARE ANSWER ME ON THIS QUESTION!
So many Smart blackberry prepaid users are switching to globe becoz of this! Try to read all local internet forums on the blackberry and you will see what im talking about. So with all of these can anyone of you say here that the problem is in my phone or is it with Smart?
Kindly just not include BIS here, coz in the first place my queries are just on Wifi. - 09-30-2010, 04:37 PM #589
Did you see all the pdf files, it says Mobile Network OFF, if you TURN OFF data services you cannot have internet.
I said i am not on BIS, my questions and queires are all just on Wifi... pls do not include BIS here becoz they are both independent, one will work without the other. BIS works on GPRS, Wifi can exists without BIS. - 09-30-2010, 09:22 PM #590
Yeah I also tried registering to their 5 day Supersurf Max. Same reply from Globe. The reason they gave me why I cannot register to their service is that I am on Time Browsing which was AUTOMATICALLY PROMPTED by their system. They are still baffled as to why it happened. So I asked for a manual activation to shift to KB browsing as I cannot do it via KB to 1111. Again the technical support guy admitted that they also don't know why an error prompts in their system and I've talked to 5 different CSRs already.
Premise:
1. I cannot shift to KB browsing on my part.
2. THEY (GLOBE) cannot shift my account to KB browsing on their part.
Ergo,
1. I won't be able to register to the unlimited service for BB Max.
2. THEY (GLOBE) cannot register my account to the unlimited service for BB Max.
I also asked for their manager, but the rep told me crap about how they would solve this problem and that this is an isolated case, etc. My BB is sitting idly for a week now. The service was good for a month then all of a sudden all this problems surfaced. I'll drop by their Business Center later to give them a piece of my mind.
I'm very disappointed with Globe.

It's been a week since I started calling them about the problems in my account. After seven days, still no resolution on the problems presented. I've been with Globe for 5 years already. Only now that I experienced this kind of dumb Customer service with them.

Hmmm...oh lets see....you have smart service books, smart settings... and when you put a Globe sim in...you dont get charged...hmmmmmmmmm...oh my god it makes no sense!!!!!! @_@
How about trying... putting a globe sim in, register to one day of BIS just to get GLobe's service books, then put your smart sim in Hmmm? see if you get charged.
And since according to you, globe allows data over wifi...then this should work. you dont have bis anyway so you wouldnt care if you have globe service books. Your wifi should work.
PS. Do post the links to these "local forums" you keep touting. The ones with a ****load of smart subscribers whining about this problemLast edited by drichhhh; 10-01-2010 at 03:26 AM. Reason: Addition

Are you on postpaid? Impossible a manager cant fix this. This is definitely an issue with their DB. Just get mad until they fix it. if you want, try to go to a globe business center. The new flagship one in greenbelt 3 seems to provide good service. Just threaten to not pay your bill or move to smart or sun until they fix this. (of course try to be nice first. If nice doesn't work, be an *******)
*oh wait you are going to a business center lol my badLast edited by drichhhh; 10-01-2010 at 03:37 AM.

Wow what answers I got from here! Its useless for me to reply here anymore. I had laid out all my points and if you don't believe me its up to you. I just want anyone who can help me with this in this forum, but what turns out are never ending arguments.
Anyway...Thanks to all who replied!

While it is true that most of my answers are laced with sarcasm(they are still sound, logical answers) , it is also true that you had no point to begin with. We already gave you every possible solution but none worked for you.
And when something works for a lot of people but doesn't work for one person, that means..
a. User Error
b. Faulty hardware
I'm leaning towards User Error.
See ya round!
