I don't really want to talk about this, and besides if/when Blackberry goes completely away, there will be several new phone OSes and iOS/Android might even be dead. But let's just say BB was dead right now. I'd go with Android most likely. iOS is decent but I hate Apple, and Android 5 looks very promising, it might finally be as fluid as iOS and BB10.

WP kinda sucks with 8 IMO. It's not as fluid as WP7 was, app design is fragmented, they all look different and I HATE that, BB10 kicks something (Mobile Nations censors everything) in this regard, iOS is decent, Android is equal to WP. I was using a low end Lumia 520, so it might be more fluid with a higher end device, but WP just isn't that great.

If BlackBerry goes my best choice after that is tin cans with strings and snail mail. It's that serious here.

Windows Phone or iPhone.. I hated iPhone, but now I have iPad air and MBP.. Can't resist the temptation.. == Now I understand how can people be so drawn into the ecosystem and how important it is for a platform to survive nowadays. But I'm staying as long as I can with BlackBerry!

How to chose between Google and Apple ?

I probably would look for a third choice. But that's pure theory, isn't it ?

If you want a platform that is fully supported by App developers you need to choose between iOS and Android.

God forbid BlackBerry ever stop making phones and OS.. If that happened, I'd switch to a Windows phone. I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro tablet, which is fantastic, and can do just about everything my laptop can, so it would make sense for me to get a Windows phone in that scenario.

Even if BlackBerry went away we could still use our devices. My grampa still uses an ancient Motorola flip phone that works on an analogue signal. Can't believe the places he can still get reception with that thing! Even if BlackBerry, the company, disappeared tomorrow, the phones would still live on for a very long time.

If BB dies, I'd have to go with Jolla or Jolla/Nokia, if Nokia buys them out.

That being said, it's more likely that Jolla will disappear before BlackBerry does.

I'd probably buy an iphone or android. But after using it for a few days, I will grow increasingly confused and depressed. I will then seek therapy, in which I will find no relief, because BlackBerry is irreplaceable. After that reality sets in, I'd drive up to the George Washington bridge, and jump off.

It would make sense for people to go to Android because they've likely used Android apps. But if you want to root for an underdog, Windows Phone is where it's at.

IOS. Though it's definitely not as intuitive as its proponents claim. That said, the apps there tend to be built with much better care than Android.

That's because the dev tools are better and the platform is less fragmented. It's just easier to write polished iOS apps.
