Currently Blackberry is developing and maintaining software for BB10, Android, iOs, and Windows. I just keep thinking Blackberry should use the opportunity to create a base "phone" ready for developing into different phones (BB10, Android， windows phones，etc.). They can license the design to third parties while building Blackberry phones, (e.g., BB10 with Android runtimes) themselves.

The base phone design can be based on QNX hypervisor and have Blackberry security features built-in if necessary.

This approach has several advantages if it is worked out:

1. Getting full access to Google play store for Blackberry-designed phones while keeping Android runtimes for BB10.

2. Continue to make BB10 phones and at the same time, allow many different phones to be produced based on Blackberry-designed base phones. Blackberry can gain more bargaining powers with component vendors.

3. Allowing more Blackberry-designed phones on the market. Blackberry phones will get more exposure and license income.

4. Blackberry can have more options to explore different opportunities.
