My iTunes music library alone is hovering around 40GB. Modern apps are getting bigger and pictures from the 8MP camera and 1080p video will hog more space. Since none of it is expandable it is better to have more than not enough, IMO. But everyone is different. If you only have a couple of gigs of music and pictures....the yeah, 64GB is overkill for you. But I'm sure there are plenty out there that are running into capacity issues on the 64GB model.
my girlfriend just upgraded her 32 gig iPhone 4 to the 64 gig iphone 4S. She doesnt really need that much but her work pays for her phones so she figured why not.
She did always complain that the 32 gig she had wasn't enough she always had to remove stuff from it to add new stuff.
Besides its always better to have too much space and not need it all rather then not having enough space and need more.
On my BlackBerry I used a 16gb sd card, and it was full just with music. I figured at least 32 for music and apps, but considering the large camera files, just went for the 64.

I use the 64gb 4s. I sold my 32gb 4 on eBay for $348, so I figured why not?? Also the resale value is awesome, and I travel a lot so having the extra space for movies and stuff is helpful.
got the white 4s 64GB opening day....today used 11GB so far and haven't really even had a chance to do much as far as songs, videos, apps etc. Been working too much so for me I feel 64 is a good choice. My daughter has an 8GB (ip4) and she has almost no room left.
