There is, but it is dependent on the firmware and baseband.

Please put your Firmware Version and baseband in a reply and we can help you from there.

AT&T is now allowing iPhones to be unlocked. Article here.

I found these steps from another forum:

Follow my steps and you will get your phone unlocked:
Email icare3@amcustomercare.att-mail.com and let them know you have purchased the phone at full retail price.
State that your contract has ended and provide them with the IMEI # of the iPhone.
You will get an email saying they need proof and proof must be faxed.
Email back and state that you no longer have proof.
You will get another email stating that you can go back and get the proof
Email back and state that you have tried and the store no longer gives out receipt thats over one year old
You will get a case number
Email back and state you are going out of country in 3 days.
You will get an email stating that your phone has been unlocked.
Good luck.

How to check IMEI
1. dial *#06#
2. Setting > General > About > IMEI
3. On the Sim Tray.
