Default Turning off signal and only using wifi... Is this possible

The title says t all... I'm going to jamaica and I don't want to get slammed with charges I'm only using wifi ... Not calling...
Can I put airplane mode on and wifi? What is airplane mode?

Yes you can. Airplane mode turns off all cellular radios. It is useful on a plane where you cannot keep your cell radios on. It basically makes your iPhone an iPod Touch. WiFi WILL work with Airplane mode on.

So I turn airplane mode onthen wifi on and no charges... Awesome .... Thanks a lot

Airplane Mode turns off ALL transmissions including WiFi. However, do what the OP said and turn WiFi back "on". WiFi can only be used on aircraft that have WiFi and not all carriers have this ability.

Yes this is true. But like I said, WiFi will work with Airplane Mode on.

helps a lot if you are a frequent international traveller...lots of free wifi hotspots every where nowadays...

The main thing is making sure that data roaming is turned off.

WiFi is your international data friend however!

i couldve sworn airplane mode on any phone turns off all transmissions
