You can change your sms, email etc if your phone is jailbroken

I am hoping the next gen iphone or OS for that matter will let us change the email tone just like on a mac. It is the little things that matter

Sorry, unless you jailbreak, you are stuck with the default 8 tones (or so).

After you jailbreak you can't assign tones to certain contacts and stuff, you can just download more tones from Cydia, and they dont show up individually. You have to find them by clicking on the default tones or apply the theme in cydia then click on the default tones to see which one it replaced.

pretty restricted in customizing your sms tones unless jailbroken. unless you can some how change your push notifications.

Hopefully the new OS upgrade will allow this, but i doubt it.
