    For the past three or four days, i've had some problems with my email on my phone. When I try to delete emails, it says 'the selected messages were unable to be moved to the selected location.' why is this happening?

    Delete and re-add the email account.

    Also update to the latest 2.2 firmware.

    Does deleteing an email account and re-adding it remove all emails from the account permanently?

    No because the iPhone is based on IMAP and not POP3
