Playing music through the Phone NOT the speakers

Is there a way with some third party app to play my podcasts or what not via the phone and not trough the speaker? Lets say I am in an environment such as a library and I forget my earphones. I do not want to play via the speaker but through the phone when I hold it up to my ear. On my old BB there was a way to do this, but not sure about the iphone. Is there a way?

actually there is a work around,and I tested it on my paperweight, i mean ip4

You want an app that requires you to hold the phone against your head long enough to listen to a podcast?

Wouldn't you rather wait till you have your headphones? I mean,....I'm surprised anyone bothered to write an app for that.
