One wonders when a company that's embraced iPhones for BYOD implementation get burned by this. No wonder Good requires one to repeatedly login to the mail server to get one's company email...and maybe that'll be enough to prevent a breach. But I'd not take a bet that an iPhone exploit will not be the undoing of the next Target-like embarrassment. Although I'd be even less likely to take that bet for Android.

The article says the flaw exists in iPads as well.

I did it on my wife's 4s, but only with a missed phone call and only once - repeated attempts demanded the phone to be unlocked.

If that was a bb10 device with a security flaw like that, the tech media would rip them to pieces.

Yeah only works one time. After that, you have to unlock the device to get in

Yep, after all these lockscreen vulnerabilities I've yet to see a single story where anything actually happened to anyone. But hey, it's gotta be a big deal 'cos rainman thinks so...

It's a quick menu toggle, there's no forcing at all.

Of course bb is all about security. IPhone is not.

But, if I put a lock code, I want it to lock the phone... at least in my opinion, a lock code should prevent quick settings (including airplane mode, airdrop, multimedia player controls, etc.) to be used by anybody.

I agree with the airplane mode and some of the more important stuff, but multimedia shouldn't too big of an issue say you want to start/stop/move forward a song.

It's only possible if the phone's owner has it set to allow access to the control centre from the lock screen. No control centre, no way to get in.

It's the price of convenience, one supposes. For the security-minded, don't allow the phone to do anything without being unlocked.

Just disable quicksetting access on the lockscreen, simple as that. It's a user preference which I leave enabled simply because the risk of being a victim to any of the lockscreen issues is a 1,000,000,000 to 1
