    It should work as you have to add the account to your phone, therefore your phone will access it and/or direct it to your phone.

    If you are jailbroken you can tether by downloading one of the apps available in Cydia/Rock. Otherwise you won't be able to tether.

    You can tether w/o the app. I was doing it before jailbreaking, all that is needed is the right carrier file.
