Ok everyone iOS 5 GM is out and with it comes new apps Find My Friends and Cards. Released on 12 October.

let's talk about the features of iOS5 and the 2 new apps.

I message is nice and fast no asking for PINS, secure and encrypted and best of all automatic.

Cards let's you send a Card from your iDevice for 2.99. I think hall mark better watch out. that's cheaper than buying the card and sending it yourself.

Find my friends: great app for families. It has privacy controls which is a plus.

Siri Assistant the Jailbreakers are already on this trying to port to older iDevices. Here's to hoping they get it done.

    Feel free to add.

200+ features on iOS 5 - and all but a select few (you know the ones) some of the silliest add-ons ever to waste space on a smartphone.

Thank goodness for all 3rd Party App developers for actually building products that make iOS hardware useful, though.

Agreed but the cards app looks interesting to say the least.

I just want an untethered JB.....

I haven't DL the beta, I'm waiting on it to come to iTunes. I'm going to put in on my i4 and acquaint myself with it while my i4s is in route. I do like the notification system they've incorporated.

Installed GM yesterday. Liking it so far. The notification center is such a relief. Not intrusive
anymore. I also like the fact that I can still turn off banners for certain apps.

I installed GM yesterday. GM fixed some minor issues that were in the final beta. Running real smooth and I finally have more than one person to iMessage with

Very much looking forward to my new iP4S, iOS5, and all the new features.
    Except cards.
It's probably because I think buying cards for people is a waste of time...
    iCards looks stupid.

I only have a 3GS so not sure how smoothly iOS 5 will run, if it doesn't I will upgrade to the 4s.

Siri is a 4S feature. But I wonder if jailbreak developers will get it working on the i4.

If they do it won't matter because the hardware on the iP4 won't run it very well; not strong enough.

What most people dont realize is that Siri has been a 3rd party app in the app store for some time now that has been running on the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4. Apple bought the rights to the app and integrated it into the OS. So I don't see why it won't run on an iPhone 4. I'm just convinced that apple is making it exclusive to the 4S as an incentive to upgrade.

yeah i've heard that, but i'm assuming you'd have to jailbreak to get it? i'd rather not jailbreak personally...oh well, we'll see what happens...

I'm pretty sure that it wasn't anywhere near as good as native 4s version though.

Does anyone know if iOS 5 will be delivered OTA,...or will I have to sync with my computer one final time?

Computer. OTA updates are part of iOS 5, so you need iOS 5 first.
