If you went to 3.1 already, you can forget about going back down.

Duvi is correct here... If you have a 3GS you are stuck with 3.1 once you install it, OR even if you're on 3.0 or 3.0.1 and enter recovery mode or anything that requires a restore, you can only go to 3.1 at the moment. If you captured your iBEC and iBSS files or had Cydia do that for you already, you might be able to downgrade in the future. The way things are sounding over at the Dev-Team site, if you're on 3.1 with no capture of your iBEC and iBSS files you MIGHT not be able to jailbreak again... I'm certain this will change, but that's somewhat the consensus it seems at this point.
