I have been thinking about doing it myself. I just got my iPhone last week, and I love this thing. Im just not sure if I want to dive right in to jailbreaking it. Although, having themes would be awesome. Just a little scared I guess.

The IPSW is the iPhone's firmware. You need to download the file to your computer. I.E. if you want to jailbreak the 2.2 FW, you need to download the 2.2 FW and then select it in QuickPwn (or it'll automatically be selected).
i went in to settings and then general and then about and it says version 2.2.1 (5h11) do i need to downlaod another version ?????
You're going to need to download the same version to your computer. Going to the site 70th showed, selecting the iPhone 3G's 2.2.1, click on Download is all you need to do. Once it's finished you can then go back to QuickPwn and proceed with jailbreaking your iPhone.
Please post up how it turned out too. When I was browsing that site, it showed all the downloads were windows based, which sucks for me, since im a Mac user. Is there a site for me to jailbreak from that supports Mac downloads? Not saying im going to do it, but if I do grow the balls and do it, ill know where to go to.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but I have a jailbreaking question. I want to jailbreak my 3g, but before I do, I want to know how hard it is to go back to my pre-jailbroken settings. I know you can restore the phone and there for unjailbreak it. But how do I get back to the state right before I jailbroke it?

I really want to jailbreak my iPod Touch! I think I will. I've afraid to because I'd think it'll mess up my iPod but now I just want to see what else I can do with it.
my friend just updated his iphone 3G to the latest software, which version is that? Also, using the site posted earlier in this thread, can I jailbreak his phone for him? If I do jailbreak it, do I have to constantly wipe it to virgin state everytime a new update comes out? Anyone have some feedback for me? Hes been asking me to but I told him let me just find out a few things first because I don't own an Iphone, I'm just the techy.
