I plan do use it for both listen to music in my car, my question is how long does the battery generally live would you think? I always get told a cycle get taken up each time you plug it in. Do alot of you have a Ipod and an Iphone and just use the Phone as a back up?

I have both a 32GB 3GS and an 80GB iPod classic. I still mostly use my iPod Classic for music, but I have been playing with the iPod on my phone because it's new. I used it all day yesterday at work and on the plane and at the end of the day I was still around 60% on my battery. I'm sure you could go all day using the built in iPod and still have plenty of battery left for calls. I downloaded Beejive today, so i'm curious to see what the notifications do to my battery life.

I have both and ipod and iphone and always use the ipod music on my iphone as backup.....very disappointed at the crappy battery life of the ipod
