One of my customers has just bought an iPhone 3G and wants to sync it to his XP system with Outlook 2003.

Is there a way to do this? What software do I need to buy for hom to make this work?

I do not care what it costs (within reason) I just need it to work.

If he has Outlook then he should be good.

There is an option to sync with Outlook with iTunes.

Thanks Jayden. I got a call saying he had been trying for two days to make it work. I am going there on Friday to try and fix it.

When having the iPhone connected to iTunes, go to the info tab and then you will see the following:

    Contacts
    Calendars
    Mail Accounts
    Web browser
    Advanced

Jayden, your advise worked well and I got Outlook to sync. Thanks. One thing, Outlook on the PC gave an error message saying that the POP acconut was locked by another user if I had used the amil client on the iPhone. The only fix was to swich off the iPhone. This fixed it uintil I used email on the iPhone again. Any ideas?

I upgraded the firmware to 2.1 and this did not fix the problem.

Having used the iPhone for about 2 hours I have to say that if. It were a flip fone design with a proper keyboard and supported cu n paste, then I would not mind owning one.
