I was going through the updates of cydia and I saw that there's a baseband downgrade. Do I need to update to 2.2 with baseband 2.30 and then downgrade or do I have to try to keep my baseband at 2.28 always???

This is for tmobile users like me. I'm running 2.1 software cause 2.2 upgrades your baseband which means we couldn't use yellowsnow

Don't take this 100% but I thought 2.2 is still 2.28 baseband and the 2.2.1 firmware includes the 2.30 baseband.

Also, the downgrade for the baseband only works on a certain boot loader version.

To check to see which bootloader you have, in Cydia, download 3G FUZZYBAND. What that program is that it will allow you to see which baseband you have and bootloader. If you are running 2.30 modem firmware and have 5.8 bootloader, 3G FUZZYBAND will also allow you to downgrade your 2.30 firmware to 2.28. It took me about 4hours to finally figure out how to downgrade my firmware and I was lucky enough to find 3G FUZZYBAND

SO, my suggestion is to use 3G FUZZYBAND to downgrade your firmware to 2.28 because just one click on the button "downgrade" it will automaticly do the downgrade for you. for DOWNBB, it was too long of a process.
