How to transfer pics to from iphone on pc

My sister has an iphone. She tries to connect it to her windows xp to transfer to/from pictures/music. but when she connect it to the computer, she doesn't see the iphone. can someone help?

Connect it and under my computer it should register as a camera, just open the folder and you can transfer things out.
