Does anyone know of a way to export all my contacts from my iPhone straight into my iPad 2 without having to re-type all of them in?

You can use a number of different services.

1.) ITunes synch to your computer-then synch to your iPad.
2.) MobileMe if you have it. If not, iCloud will do it for you this fall.
3.) Google Contacts.
4.) Finally, and not joking here, but Apple Store if one is close. I am convinced they can do anything.
