The method can not be so easily blocked. Read the zdnet article. Apple allows special IDs that can be used by big corporations to effectively side load and bypass the Apple app signing requirement to install apps in iOS.

The credentials are not easily obtained as Apple only issues the IDs to a limited set of customers on an as needed basis. But apparently can be faked.

Apple can't just disable this feature without hurting enterprise users that do not want to be restricted to app store only apps.

But that is exactly what they can do to eliminate the threat. Will they? Probably not, they'll fix it with another security layer to enterprise provisioning I'm sure.

It's not an issue for the majority of users at this point and Apple will have it fixed before it gets to that point. Then the next vulnerability will come along.
