I had Boost mobile back in the day.. it was a SIM based device. I got the pre-paid Boost package at Wal-mart, then took the SIM out and put it in a Nextel i95cl and it worked perfectly fine.

Because Nextel i95cl is an iden phone- the iphone is not.
