Appears to be a glitch with how Bank of America debit cards were programmed in. Which is why BOA and not Apple is fixing.

Figured as much. Apple better push to ensure it's corrected quickly, I think, as glitches like this will be blamed in it.

I'm sure BOA is jumping to fix it.

Indeed. The providers' frenzy to position themselves as the default Apple Pay card is striking. MC for one is putting out some very expensive advertising as well as working with MLB to set it up at the two World Series stadiums.

So much for "the token can only be used once..."

They probably figure if you can't be bothered to take a card out of your wallet, you probably don't check your bank statement either...

The token is one time use only. As others have said, the problem here is on the BofA side in how they are processing some transactions.

You can place the blame on one part if you like, but I see it as part of their "ecosystem".

That's fair. The banks are part of the Apple Pay product.

But the jealousy of Apple and the glee at every little misstep does get a bit thick here sometimes. It can come across a bit sad.

But that is offset or perhaps caused by the news media going gaga over ANYTHING Apple does or is even rumored to do. How's that liquid metal and sapphire phone treating you?

And completely ignores the real problem: the consumer gets screwed yet again. I'm hoping BoA not only rectifies the situation for those users affected but dings themselves for "overdraft" fees.

    Hey... I can dream, right?

I don't work at BofA, but I am quite certain the charges will be reversed and any resulting overdraft fees reversed as well. They would be in huge trouble with federal regulators and Apple if they didn't.

Oh no, I was making a pun about the overdraft fees. See... in this instance, it's the bank and not the consumer who has taken out too much money, so the penalty should go... oh never mind, it sounded much more witty in my head.
