Guess all that talk about the 4S being a disappointment can find its way to the trash for sure now. http://news.cnet.com/8301-13579_3-57...tag=cnetiosapp

I think this should also put to bed the idea that RIM's problems are only in the US.
Samsung just sold 35 million smartphones worldwide in the most recent quarter. Apple sold 37 million iPhones.
RIM sold just 14 million phones in the most recent quarter, and projects just 12 million this quarter. So even if you completely omit the US market, it still must be true that the iPhone now outsells Blackberry by at least 2 to 1 outside of the US.
And Samsung also probably now outsells RIM outside of the US by a similar margin.
Several months ago this might have been a "US only" problem, but it's obviously spreading. The US alone cannot possibly account for such a big difference in sales volume.

At 15.4M iPads, Apple is selling more iPads than RIM is selling phones.

With the Kindle Fire doing well, and a new iPad coming in just a few weeks, I expected to see like 12-13 million iPad2's sold this quarter. Not 15!

But also credit quality products. You can have all the marketing strategies and commercials in the world, but if your products don't live up to the hype, word gets around quickly.

I think adding another carrier(sprint) really helped with that. It was similar to when verizon got the i4 after not having any of the other versions.

I think these numbers are amazing and they speak volumes about Apple as a company. My upgrade is Saturday and I think I may bump my personal 4 for a 4s. I always try to weigh my options, but so far I see not reason to change to any other phone.

iPhone 5 possibly in June. I'm waiting on that for my next cell phone purchase.

there is also this article. It will be interesting to see if apple releases a new iphone less than a year after the 4s since it is still selling very well.
