    Knowing apple, they charge a premium for their products. But car manufacturers are penny pinchers. There will be a premium for the Apple option.

    Wait, you didn't mean "Apple should supply in-car electronics" but rather "Apple should build cars"?

    Unless they can muster Elon Musk levels of so-crazy-that-it-just-might-work (which they can't), they'll go the way of Fisker, among others.

    Because cars aren't as profitable as tech gadgets. The most profitable segment in the automotive industry are trucks which isn't the kind of thing that Apple would get into. If anything, they would be electric and eventually self-driving cars. However, that's an incredible investment in infrastructure. They are better off just doing what they do best in more and more countries and getting into emerging markets like China and India.

    Car manufacturers have to stay neutral. Going Apple, or Windows close potential sales. Ford already paid the price for going with Windows.
