Any idea to sync my old iPod touch songs to computer?

I've been trying to figure out how to transfer the music from my ipod to my computer as i just got a new one. The old Ipod is a generation 2 Ipod touch, and i just got new iTouch

Why not just hook up your ipod to your computer with itunes and transfer that way?

Reinstall your system and your iTunes library, or just get your music, videos and photos off your iPod, and save them to your computer
1.go to music in ipod when connected to computer
2.select the songs
3.drag to the itunes area for music
4.your done

Really? I thought that iTunes has always been a one way street: you can transfer stuff from the computer iTunes to the device, never from the device to the computer (without 3rd party software). Of course purchased content can be transferred back, but I bet the OP was talking about all of their music that's on the old iTouch.
