Default Where to begin

Hello,

I'm a programming student with a bit of java experience and c++ experience. I'd like to get my feet wet working with Blackberry Apps and I've got a few ideas for apps that I'd like to try. I'm wondering where to begin. Can anyone recommend a good book on Blackberry Apps or mobile apps?

Thanks

Shawn

There's plenty of examples and sample docs plus javadocs on the BB site.

Blackberry JDE API - User Interface Field Reference - dev|sushi is also a good starter guide on UI stuff.

Really, you just need to learn how to work the UI properly because there's no "compose this layout" thing; the other device-specific stuff is pretty easy to pick up.

The samples are a great resource for getting straight into development if you already have Java experience. Be forewarned, RIM's documentation is not exactly perfect so there are some inconsistencies between the expected and actual behaviours.
