What programming language are the professional applications such as Berry Weather coded in?

Historically, all apps for Blackberry are written in Java. More recently it has become possible to create apps using widgets by using a mix of html, css and javascript.

A long time ago they used iirc C++, but that was axed because of security problems.

Anyone have an alternate link to the java eclipse plugin because it keeps failing to download for me.

You will need 3 things
1. Eclipse IDE
2. EclipseME (plugin)
3. Blackberry SDK
4. If you are new to java - Lots of patients

I like the fact that RIM have provided development libraries for learning the APIs, although they aren't arranged very well so does anyone have a link to someones blog post of something for the order in which I should watch the videos from Hello World videos (talking about the classes) through to the more complicated stuff with UI and Threads.
