Trying to create a new App

Ok, well i want to create my own application for smart phones and I-phones...does anybody know how to copywrite or patent the information before hand? any help or information is greatly appreciated.

It'll help you determine if it can be patented. But remember you need to have a patent for each country/area you want to sell it (US, Europe, Australia, Asia, etc).
