Default Programming berry vs ios

This is kind of general question - and am looking for definitive answers...even tho im sure there is not one out there.

Programming apps for the Blackberry or Iphone/Droid - which language is easier?

From my understanding... blackberry 6/5 use Java, now allow for widgets and html5 applications...so if your a web developer you can some how compile your site into an actual offline application.

Iphone and droid use Objective c and C++...possible java as well.

So where do all these apps come from on the iphone...(even tho there are over 100 farting apps and 2000 versions of tower defence....) how come with java a very very common language in programming we do not have more apps?

Im not a programmer...just confused...

(that being said as a mac owner i am slightly pissed there are more apps coming out for the iphone than my own f-ing macbook...)

There is a myth, which says that programming for BlackBerry is complex or otherwise difficult. I don't believe that, I'm a programmer myself. It is true that Java is a very common language, but I won't discuss the C vs. Java debate here; there is enough of that on the Web.

Apple "revolutionized" (as they like to say it) the App Store principle and partly due to this there are many many many applications available for the iPhone, because developers saw more potential for their application to capture a broad audience, versus minimal chances to succeed in the BlackBerry world. Also, for a quite long time there was no central, unified application store for the BlackBerry; only recently did App World come up. This meant that developers had difficulties finding a good way to promote and distribute their software.

Android gets natural response from developers as it is open source. I am part of the open source community as well (Linux junkie!) and I know for a fact that 'we' are a very vocal community, so anything open source gets much attention and development carries on full force. This is partly the reason why Android has much support from developers.

programming iphone is easier due to kinds of tools and API's provided, almost every thing is provided to make life easier.

programmer doesn't need to work on UI and other component he can concentrate on the core functionalities. iphone uses compiled executable which is way better than interpreted/compiled java.

java is bit slower than native ios app.

RIM doesn't provides with lot of friendly api's to make life easier.
blackberry's are more popular as corporate device than common persons smartphone.
and most of apps will never make to your device if IT dept. denied it.
in most of corporate devices third party apps are pushed by IT people. and you are not allowed to install apps/games.
so why to waste time and money on blackberry app/game.

iphone app/game is commonly accessible to every one owning the device. chances for revenue generation is more on iOS.

besides all this RIM hardware's are obsolete before they are launched. BB is text mode phone with text mode life.

android is catching up and will beat iOS for sure. android is supported by many propriety and open source world.

this is super lol, but after so many years of BB services.

BB's doesn't have a descent inbox email app. 8700 and 9700 has same kind of email inbox.
