Default java based sip client possible on bb?

Hi, i'm pretty new to being a blackberry nut. I've had them for a long time, but never really got into the programs or the culture. But lately i've been trying to figure out how to get a nice sip set up on my bb. SO i have come up with this scheme since BB is java based why couldnt' u install a java based sip program? I don't know much about computors and programing so that's why i'm here asking. I mean the program has JAR and JAD files, isn't that what you need or no?

Well I had a link to check out but it's not working, if you just search for sipxphone it should show up. I downloaded it and was trying to figure out if i can get that app into my bold. The nice thing is it's open source so if anyone is a java whiz they might be able to figure out how to do it. Then again maybe i'm a nut and ignorant LOL both of which are likely. Let me know what you think and why or why not this is possible/impossible. I'm interested to learn. Thanks.

I would have said no to this a few days ago, but I just saw a tweet that RIM is enabling SIP with a new SDK. Hopefully people will step up and give us a good choice of SIP clients.

Yeah, that's good news. Also have you seen the voip thing on the home page at crackberry? It's about a voip program, it's just like the java libraries or something like that, it's only the platform for dev to build on but I wonder if you could integrate that with the aforementioned program and get something to work. Oh well, looks like i need to learn some java....

Yes, that is what I was talking about. RIM has put out a toolkit to enable developers to write SIP apps. Now there won't be any excuse
