Default HTML5 Audio

Hi there, I'm new to Blackberry development and I'm working on porting my iPhone app over using WebWorks. It's a fairly simple sound board application that I've been able to rebuilt using HTML5, and it works flawlessly on some Blackberries, but others I get no audio at all.

I'm using HTML5 audio, exactly like one of the tutorials found in the WebWorks documentation, so it should be supported on any BlackBerry with OS6 or higher. But so far that's not the case, and some devices just don't output any audio from the app (Works fine in all models in the Ripple emulator, but only works on some of those models). I can't figure out what the problem is and I was hoping somebody here could lend me a hand.

Thanks!

It's been tricky to figure out exactly which models aren't working since some people haven't provided me all the info about their phones. But I've seen it working fine on some Curves, but I've had no luck on the Torches.

How can this be solved if the phones use different codecs? I assumed HTML5 would work on any device is OS6 or higher. Is there a specific bitrate that the mp3s I'm using should be encoded in, or maybe a different format entirely?

I'm finding it tricky since I don't have all these devices on me, and I do most of my testing in the Ripple emulators.

Try testing your app in the smartphone simulators.

BlackBerry - Smartphone Simulators

Ripple isn't good for much beyond basic testing.
