Default How Hard Is It?????

Question for the masses:

How hard would it be for somebody with no programmming background to write an app for the Blackberry?

I have an idea to help folks in my career field, and am researching developing an app.

Any input or advise is welcome.

Thank You in advance,
Chris

I would advise against starting programming for any smartphone if you have no programming experience. They come with many pitfalls and frustrations that you won't encounter on a desktop -- programming can be a difficult skill to acquire for standard apps; trying to learn how to do it while also learning the details of a particular mobile platform more often than not leads people into giving up.

Lucky for all of us Chris, it is getting better (and somewhat easier) all the time.

I recommend picking up a book or googling some material and just try to get started on something. Javascript is a pretty interesting language with a ton of breadth.

C# and the .NET world has its perks, but if you ever try to move to another language, you'll have trouble losing some of the things you grow to depend on in that environment.

In all ... pick something that interests you and go for it.

PS... I have a developer blog I've just started on BlackBerry widgets. I'll have more posts coming soon with full widget examples and code @
