How difficult is Java for BB to code?

OK. I've got an idea for a very basic BlackBerry application.

The app would activate when you receive an incoming call and then perform an Internet search for you, while the call was still ringing.

I've programmed a lot for the web but never desktop/mobile developing, and I've never used Java.

How hard is it to pick up for an application such as this? Thanks.

What kind of search? Like. Whois? Or a reverse look up? Can you please be a little more descriptive on what you're trying to do.

Ok what I want to do is this:

Say you get a call from an 08x or 09x number (in the UK this is)... the app would search the Internet/a few websites and return the company that it was who was calling. There are various websites that list all the 08x numbers and users submit who it is - such as credit card companies, scams, banks, etc etc. So it would quickly connect to the internet,perform the search and then return who it was.

Would this be possible?

I actually started working on something similar. It only works for US/Canada numbers right now, but if you would like I could add support for UK etc.

I just need to know where to do the lookup.
